Ingredients
- 3 large ripe bananas, mashed
- ½ cup melted butter (salted or unsalted)
- ¾ cup brown sugar (or granulated sugar)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- ½ cup chocolate chips, walnuts, or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line or grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir until just combined.
- Sprinkle in flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Fold gently until just combined—do not overmix.
- Fold in chocolate chips or nuts, if using.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 55–65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for best flavor. Don’t overmix the batter. Add-ins like chocolate chips or walnuts make great variations. To store, wrap tightly and keep at room temp for 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
