Perfect Honey Maple Herb Turkey: 5 Secrets for Juicy Perfection

Juicy, tender, and slightly sweet with a golden maple-honey glaze, this Honey Maple Herb Roasted Turkey Breast is perfect for holidays or any time you want a comforting, stress-free meal.

  • Total Time: 75–105 minutes
  • Yield: 4–6 servings

Ingredients

  • 3–4 lb boneless turkey breast (skin-on for best results)
  • 4 tbsp butter, softened
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 lemon, halved (optional)
  • 1 small onion, quartered (optional)
  • Fresh herbs for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Place a rack in the center.
  2. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin.
  3. Loosen the skin with your fingers and rub half of the butter-honey-herb mixture under the skin.
  4. Spread the remaining mixture over the skin.
  5. Line a roasting pan with onion wedges and lemon halves, then place the turkey on top, skin-side up.
  6. Roast for 60–90 minutes (depending on size) until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Halfway through, spoon pan juices over the turkey.
  8. Let the turkey rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing (temperature will rise to 165°F).

Notes

For extra moisture, add chicken broth to the pan while roasting. You can substitute maple syrup with apple cider or add cayenne for a bit of heat.
